Join our team and discover why we are a top veteran employer ( and Certified Great Place to Work ( Under the supervision of the Sr. Purchasing Manager and the local Program Manager's Office, the Procurement Specialist purchases materials, equipment, and supplies from local and nationwide commercial businesses. Ensures all purchase actions are performed in accordance with applicable Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR), corporate procurement policy, and Standard Operating Policy and Procedures (SOP) The Buyer interacts regularly with people in various positions in the Company and externally. They must maintain a good company image and supplier relations through daily business contacts. **PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Utilize company purchase card to make online purchases in accordance with ASRC p-card policy and Federal regulations. + Create "micro" Purchase Orders (under $10k) using Cost Point + Maintain active source of supply listing, government and nongovernmental, for all types of supplies and/or services needed to maintain contract operations. + Manage email and purchase requests to ensure timely ordering and tracking. + Maintain accurate records and reconcile all purchases monthly to appropriate charge codes. + Track the status of commercial purchases. Respond expeditiously to requests for information regarding the status of these purchases. + Contact vendors to follow up on orders and the status of overdue deliveries. + Maintain effective communications with customers and take proactive measures to meet lead-time required for obtaining materials. Keep requestor apprised of any change in price or specifications, and of restrictions on materials that might affect purchases. + Document all purchases in accordance with applicable contractor and Government requirements. + Utilize Company automated maintenance and procurement systems (Costpoint, Maximo, AIMs, Concur) to assist customers in tracking orders, receipts and payments. + Maintain a suspense file of POs, shipping and receipt documents for each order until order is complete. + Perform administrative duties and maintains assigned workplace, materials, and equipment in a safe, secure, and neat manner. Maintain records and files related to job responsibilities. + Performs other related duties as requested. **CORE QUALIFICATIONS:** + Must be a US citizen or US national, and pass background checks. + High School Diploma + 4 years experience, 1 year of education may be substituted for 1 year of experience. + Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based, service-oriented environment. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact tactfully and resourcefully with co-workers, vendors, and internal and external customer representatives. + Strong problem-solving skills and ability to proactively assist customers. + Ability to be flexible while still maintaining high standards of professionalism to perform under deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a volatile and diverse environment. + Must be detail oriented.
